Brava® Protective Seal: Designed to Protect Against Leakage and Protect the Skin

Leakage and skin irritation are common challenges for people with a stoma. A key cause is poor appliance fit. Bodies and lifestyles are different and no one appliance fits all the needs. This is why individualized solutions are needed.

Brava® Protective Seal can help to improve appliance fit by sealing the gap between the stoma and baseplate by filling in folds in the skin beneath the baseplate.

Key Features of Brava® Protective Seal:

  1. Designed to Protect Against Leakage: The Brava® Protective Seal creates a seal between the stoma and baseplate. A new polymer formulation makes it resistant to the aggressive constituents of stoma output, so it will not disintegrate or get broken down by the output that comes into contact with it.
  2. Designed to Protect the Skin: The new polymer formulation helps to maintain healthy skin in two distinct ways. Firstly, it absorbs moisture from the skin surface. Secondly, when removed, it leaves minimal residue behind. This makes the skin area easier to clean.
  3. Easy to Handle: Brava®Protective Seal is easy to shape, so it fits snugly around the stoma and can be applied over skin with dips, creases and folds. The seal will stay firmly in place, but when the time comes for removal, it can be pulled cleanly and easily away from the skin.
  4. Size Options: Available in two thicknesses – 2.5mm and 4.2mm for different stoma sizes (18mm/27mm/34mm).
